Corn and grain maize with a moisture content of more than 16% are not storable. To prevent losses, corn is more and more conserved with the help of propionic acid.

Advantages of conserving corn with the help of propionic acid:

1. Capacity of metering units can easily be adapted to individual conditions. This leads to a high harvesting capacity.

2. In comparison to drying the corn, the purchase cost for worm and metering unit, and thus the capital commitment, is low.

3. Buildings such as barns and warehouses can be used for storage.

Why propionic acid?

Professional conservation optimises the hygiene and preserves the nutrients in the feed. Various special acids make an important contribution to the quality improvement of feed corn:

  • No loss of nutrients and substance.
  • No reproduction of mildew, barm and bacteria.
  • Mildew can not form toxic substances.
  • Flow of the corn can be fully maintained.
  • Increased nutrient values and better feed utilization.
